Resistor color code

Choose the colors of the bands and see the resistor's value, or find the colors for a value.

Value –
What does this mean?

The color bands indicate the value of a resistor. Read them from the side where the bands are close together, with the gold or silver band (tolerance) on the right. With four bands, the first two are digits, the third is the multiplier, and the fourth is the tolerance. With five bands, there are three digits; a sixth band is the temperature coefficient.

Example: brown-black-red-gold is 1, 0, ×100 = 1000 Ω = 1 kΩ, with 5 % tolerance. Notation: 4k7 means 4.7 kΩ and 2M2 means 2.2 MΩ.
