IPv6 Calculator

Enter an IPv6 address with prefix and see the range, the number of addresses and the type of address.

What does this mean?

An IPv6 address is 128 bits long. The prefix (the number after the slash) indicates how many bits belong to the network. A typical home network usually gets a /64; a provider often gives you a /48 or /56 to divide into /64s. Addresses that start with fd or fc are private (ULA), fe80 is only within your own connection (link-local), and 2000 through 3fff are public addresses.
