View and remove photo data
View the hidden data in a photo, such as the device and location, and create a clean version without that data.
A photo from a phone or camera contains more than just the image. It also contains hidden data, the so-called EXIF data: the make and model of the device, the moment it was taken, and often the location where the photo was taken (GPS). If someone shares such a photo, others can sometimes read that data. Many sites and apps remove that data themselves, but not all of them.
This tool reads the data from JPEG photos and from HEIC (iPhone) and does everything in your browser. Creating a clean version is possible if your browser can display the photo. With the "Remove the data" button you create a new version without that data; the image stays the same.
Want to convert or resize a photo as well? Then use Convert Photos: it always removes the data too. A photo sent via a chat app often no longer has the data.
