Encoding and decoding
Convert text to Base64, URL encoding, HTML entities or hex, and back.
What does this mean?
Base64 writes data using only letters and numbers, so you can safely put it in text (for example in email or configuration files). URL encoding replaces characters that are not allowed in a web address, such as a space (%20). HTML characters writes < and & so that a browser displays them as text. Hex shows each byte as two characters.
Base64 is not encryption: anyone can convert it back. Never put a password in it to keep it "secret." Everything happens in your browser.
